Accompanying text:
The Villa Fohrde project, located in Brandenburg, is an outstanding example of the energy-efficient refurbishment of historic buildings with due regard to monument protection. As general contractor, KEM provided a comprehensive range of services here, from the development of a sustainable energy concept including energy benchmarking, to funding advice and support, through to planning, execution and construction supervision. The focus here was on coordination with the authorities for monument protection and the fire department in order to meet the special requirements of the historic building.

The implementation of a photovoltaic system in combination with an air-to-water heat pump aims to optimize self-consumption and significantly reduce natural gas consumption. This project is supported by the use of an IoT platform for the intelligent control and management of the building technology, which not only represents a sustainable energy supply, but also an advanced decarbonization measure.
